The creation of this coffee table begins with the study of balance — between openness and containment, utility and elegance. Inspired by the honest geometry of Brazilian modernist design, it was conceived not merely as a surface, but as a guardian of space — a piece that welcomes both within and without.

The wood, sourced from responsibly managed Brazilian forests, is chosen for the richness of its tones and striking grain. Whether Freijó, Tauari or Jequitibá, each plank is assessed for its structural integrity and visual beauty. After a slow, controlled drying process that takes weeks — not hours — the wood is ready to be shaped by hand.

The silhouette of the table is low and architectural, defined by clean horizontal planes and softened vertical curves. At first glance, its lines are minimalist, almost meditative. But lifting the top or sliding the panel reveals hidden compartments, designed to store books, remotes or the discreet clutter of everyday life. These spaces are integrated with precision, following the modernist principle that beauty must always serve function.

Each corner is gently rounded, inviting touch and closeness. Joints are exposed only when they enrich the design — a visible reminder of the human hands that shaped the piece. The base, set back from the top, creates a floating effect that lends visual lightness to its robust solid wood structure.

The final finish is applied by hand with natural oils, enhancing the grain and allowing the wood to breathe and age with elegance. This table was made not just to be seen, but to be lived with — a place where objects settle and moments accumulate with ease.

Handmade in Brazil, it is a piece that connects tradition and modern life — refined, solid and deeply functional.
