About the author:
Born in Brazil and living in Portugal, Nique Moura found in art a return to her own essence. Trained in Nutrition with a Master's degree in Food Safety, she built a solid career before rediscovering artistic creation in 2020, after becoming a mother — a space of healing, silence and reconstruction. Self-taught, she began her journey in the visual arts in 2022, exploring techniques such as watercolour, acrylic, oil, soft pastel and, more recently, papier-mâché — a material that has become central to her artistic practice for its sustainable and deeply transformative qualities.
Her work moves between painting and sculpture, with particular attention to textures, contrasts and symbolic elements — especially the eye, a recurring presence that evokes memory, introspection and multiple layers of perception. She has participated in art fairs and led workshops on creativity and material reuse, integrating art, sustainability and personal development into a practice that is sensitive, honest and deeply human.
Her works almost always begin from an intimate place: gestures of gathering, transformation and reinterpretation — of the world and of herself.
