Many, many years ago, some fishermen built long walkways with small houses over a saltwater lake. A magical place where nature is harsh: strong sun in summer; cold temperatures and rainy days during winter. Salt water splashes on wood. The "Palafitico" evokes that bold, herbaceous and salty environment unique to the fishermen's houses of Cais Palafitico da Carrasqueira.
